In case you missed it, Blue Oven, is adding another farmers' market on Saturday and this time we're heading North to Springfield, Ohio!  Including our markets at Findlay Market and Yellow Springs, we'll now be heading to The Market at Mother Stewart's! Held inside the brewery (Mother Stewart's) we'll be selling our wood-fired breads, our English Muffins and our croissants!

As January hits, we're always excited by the prospect of a new year, the upcoming spring and summer farmers' markets, the growth of our bakery and farm, and the selection of Cincinnati's best in CityBeat's annual "Best of Cincinnati" awards!  Blue Oven couldn't accomplish any of our goals without our beautiful city, our friends in the restaurant world and most importantly...you.  We love seeing you at every farmers' market, and we love the support we get from you year-in and year-out!  Voting has opened for the 2018 awards, and we hope you'll support us once again! Don't forget, the Jungle Jim's Food Stand hours perfectly coincide with Eastgate's Pint Night, and they're conveniently located right next to each other.  So this Friday starting at 5p, go have a pint, and a grilled cheese, Ham Pop sandwich or a soft pretzel with mustard butter!

New Neighbors in Eastgate, Updated Food Stand Hours, Winter Farmers' Markets

December was a busy month for Blue Oven with the holidays and the opening of our new food location at Jungle Jim's, and 2017 was an even bigger year for our team.  Whether beginning new ventures or putting great bread out for all of our favorite farmers' markets the team has come through in the clutch all year long.  2018 is going to be even better!  This week we're getting back to our normal schedule for farmers' markets and we're going to start settling in on our schedule for the food stand at Jungle Jim's.  We're focusing our efforts to Friday (11a-7p), Saturday (11a-7p) and Sunday (10a-3p) as we continue into January at our new location at Jungle Jim's in Eastgate.  We'll be featuring our current menu, and we're hoping to add new items as we move forward!

In other news, we'll be getting new neighbors in the Jungle Jim's plaza.  CROSSROADS is moving into their East Side location this Saturday January 6 at 5:30p and Sunday January 7 at 9a and 11a in Eastgate.

Try the Blue Oven Menu & Holiday Market Closures!

The week between Christmas and New Year's is a busy week for everyone, and several markets are closed for the week.  The Northside Farmers' Market, Madeira Farmers' Market and Winter Market at Hyde Park are all closed this week.  The good news is, you can find us at Jungle Jim's, Country Fresh Farm Market and Harvest Market as well as our usual stops at Yellow Springs and Findlay Market (open regular hours on both days this weekend)! 

Christmas Weekend Markets, Blue Oven at Jungle Jim's Menu and Hours

As you know the Christmas holiday is upon us, and that means there are changes to the farmers' market schedule this weekend.  Findlay Market is open for regular hours Saturday, December 23, and is open on Sunday, December 24th from 10am-3pm. Yellow Springs is open on Saturday, but the Hyde Park Farmers' Market is closed on Sunday for the holiday.

We had a great time during our first FOOD weekend at Jungle Jim's, and we can't wait to continue the excitement this weekend!  Though hours are subject to change as we move forward, here are the hours we're shooting for at the moment:

Thursday: 10-7
Friday: 11-7
Saturday: 11-7
Sunday: 9-2

As we grow and change into the new location at Jungle Jim's we'll continue to update the hours to best fit our customers!  We want you to have a chance to shop, join a pint night or wine tasting, and have a bite to eat with us!  Our menu is also going to grow and change as we move forward, but if you didn't get a chance, take a look!  In other news, we should have our Square up-and-running soon, so, you'll be able to pay in the way you're most comfortable with!

Blue Oven Food Beta Launch, Christmas Markets and Gift Cards!

We are burning the midnight oil in preparation for the Beta Launch of our Food stand in Jungle Jim's in Eastgate this Thursday (December 14)!  From late afternoon into the early evening we will be soft opening our food menu with a small list of offerings that will be the base for what we'll be doing there going forward.  With a combination of some of your Blue Oven favorites--Bad Boy, English Muffins and our whole-wheat Miche, you'll find some familiar tastes joining some fresh new ones, and we'll think you'll love what we have to offer!  We've loved having regulars to our farmers' market locations, and we can't wait to have regulars at Jungle Jim's in Eastgate, so we're also offering some new and exciting menu items that we hope will have you coming back for years !

Also a reminder with the upcoming holiday season, the market schedule will start to vary with closures and changes in hours, so stay alert for updates as we move forward!  As we did with the Thanksgiving special orders we want to make sure we cover all of your December holiday needs, and with that in mind, please contact us as early as possible with requests for large orders.  We also have plenty of gift cards available for those looking to treat their loved ones with Blue Oven!

In other news, last Thursday will be our final Findlay Market Thursday, but you'll still be able to find us on Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

New Food Location at Jungle Jim's and What to Expect

December 14, is only ten days away, and we can't wait to get started in our new location at Jungle Jim's in Eastgate! First and foremost, the new location will be a chance to bring together our wood-fired bread with produce from Blue Oven Farm in new and exciting food offerings.  We'll be testing and executing different menus throughout the year based on what is available to us seasonally from our farm and from other local produce and meat providers.  

Starting December 14, you'll be able to stop at the new location from Thursday through Sunday, and you'll be able to continue getting bread from the display in the Jungle Jim's bakery department every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday by 3p, and every Saturday and Sunday by 8a.  

Stay tuned for more news from Jungle Jim's in Eastgate as we move closer to Opening Day! There's a Wine Tasting from 5-8p on December 14 around the corner at the Beer & Wine Bar, so join us and Jungle Jim's for a great night to celebrate all things Blue Oven!

As we switch gears into the December holiday season, we want to remind you that a lot of the same rules apply as far as special requests for Blue Oven bread. We'll be heading out with plenty of bread throughout December, and you'll likely be able to fill your needs if you're only looking to buy one or two loaves of a different variety. However; if you need ten or more Country French for your party, 6 dozen English Muffins for your family,  or you have a unique request; advanced notice is useful and greatly appreciated.  With our production schedule we need a few days to execute, so please keep that in mind so we can plan ahead on our end!  We love being a part of your celebrations, and we hope to be able to help make your holiday dinners a step above the rest!

We know that your family is expecting their Blue Oven for the upcoming holidays, so if you missed your opportunities this past weekend, never fear, we'll be available on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.  We'll be making our normal stops at Take Home Tano's, Jungle Jim's and Country Fresh Farmer Market on Tuesday, and we'll also be making our normal stops at Jungle Jim's, Northside Farmers' Market and the Fort Thomas Farmers' Markets on Wednesday.

The Thanksgiving Holiday is still a week and a half away, but now is the time to start thinking about your Blue Oven needs.  Filling your bread pantry for the holidays is important to us, and your help allows us to prepare the bake for your favorite market.  

With that in mind from Madeira Farmers' Market this week onward to the special Wednesday market at Findlay market the following, we'll need your help.  We'll be heading out with more bread until Thanksgiving Day, and you'll likely be able to fill your needs if you're only looking to buy one or two loaves of a different variety. However; if you need ten or more Country French for your party, 6 dozen English Muffins for your family,  or you have a unique request; advanced notice is useful and greatly appreciated.  With our production schedule we need a few days to execute, so please keep in mind if for instance you would like something at Madeira Farmers' Market this week, we'd love to have that information today or early tomorrow. Having that information helps us to plan for your order as well as ensures that there will be enough bread for the rest of your fellow customers.

RETURNING TO TAKE HOME TANO THIS WEEK

You read that right! After a week away from Loveland, we missed our regular Loveland Farmers' Market customers so much that we decided to return to TAKE HOME TANO starting this week!  After you've completed your civic duty for 2017, head on over to our winter location in Loveland!  If you've already started to go to the Madeira Farmers' Market that's great, but we're back for you in the "Sweetheart of Ohio" if you need to make a quick stop for dinner and English Muffins.

Final Full Week of Outdoor Markets

As if to put an exclamation point on the summer, our weather appears to finally have made the turn into fall, and with that we'll be getting our final full week of outdoor markets under way this week!  We'll start in Loveland on Tuesday, which will mark our final market for the year at the Loveland Canoe & Kayak. The Loveland Farmers' Market has been a reliable favorite of our team over the past several months, so please make sure to visit tomorrow as well as push once again next winter to continue the tradition at its current location!

The Hyde Park Farmers' Market is also outside this week, but will be moving back to Clark Montessori on November 5 and will be open from 10a-1p.  Let's enjoy one more week in the Square and transition into the winter hours with another successful market!

If you're local market is moving closing for the season or moving to a less convenient location we do have multiple options for you.  We continue to deliver bread to Jungle Jim's in Eastgate and Fairfield, but we also recently added Country Fresh Farm Market to our delivery schedule on Tuesday and Thursday each week.  

Lastly, DON'T FORGET we'll be continuing our presence at Findlay Market on Thursdays with bread and English Muffins. Stop on by our home in OTR!

Findlay Market Thursdays, Northside Moves Inside

We have great news!  As many of you know, Blue Oven has been setting up shop at our Findlay Market stall on Fridays for the past year and change with our Toast Bar and assorted varieties of bread and of course English Muffins.  We're now setting up on Thursdays as well, and we're super excited to be able to offer our downtown customers another day they can come find us at Findlay Market.  Join us for our first Thursday this week!

In other news, the Northside Farmers' Market moves back inside to the Northside Presbyterian Church this Wednesday.  As always we hope to see you there!

The Yellow Springs Farmers' Market will be held on Sunday, October 15, this week.  Due to other events in the area on Saturday, the farmers' market will be held on the following day.

Thank you Blue Ash! & More Market Location Updates

Last week the Blue Ash Farmers' Market held  its last gathering in Summit Park, and it was yet another successful year.  We'd like to thank our Blue Ash customers, and we'd love to see you at one of our other markets this winter!  

On Wednesdays, we'll continue with the Northside Farmers' Market and the Fort Thomas Farmers' Market.  Northside moves indoors to Northside Presbyterian Church on the 18th, making this the last week it will be held at Jacob Hoffner Park.  Fort Thomas moves indoors the first week in November and remains at the Highlander Event Center.  As you can see on our sign from Blue Ash last week, you can also find us on Thursday at Madeira Farmers' Market now being held at the Madeira Silverwood Presbyterian Church (outside until the first week in November).

One final important note: the Yellow Springs Farmers' Market will be held on Sunday, October 15, this week.  Due to other events in the area on Saturday, the farmers' market will be held on the following day.  Come see us!

New Blue Oven Farm Milestone: Sowing Wheat, Loveland Farmers' Market Update

As many of you may have caught through social media this weekend, Blue Oven Farm reached a huge milestone at our new McKeever Pike location.  Once again the Blue Oven wheat will be grown on our farm as we sowed our crop for the 2018 year on Saturday.  One of our priorities in moving to the new property was to move the wheat production, storage, milling and bakery usage to one location so when the time arrived our guests would be able to observe our process.  Though the temperatures have been up and down the last couple weeks have been dry and as the saying goes "Mud your oats, dust your wheat" so it was the perfect weekend to get our wheat in the ground. 

One more important note for this week is that the Loveland Farmers' Market, starting this week, will be closing the market at 6:30p instead of 7p through the final market taking place on October 24. Mark your calendars and set your alarms to be down at Loveland Canoe and Kayak earlier and often over the next several weeks.

Madeira Farmers Market

Though the summer weather still has a strong hold on the Cincinnati area, fall is officially here, and with that comes changes to the Blue Oven farmers' market schedule.  The Madeira Farmers Market will enjoy its last week in their summer location, and will then move to the Madeira Silverwood Presbyterian Church on October 5 and will remain outside until November.  Whether at an indoor or outdoor location we always look forward to seeing you week in and week out!
