We at Blue Oven talk a lot about the weather, whether it's in the bakery or out at the markets, as the temperatures go up, so does our excitement for our upcoming season! Memorial Day is an important date in our year, not only does it give us a chance to take a well deserved breather, but it also serves as a way to help us focus as we dive head first into our biggest summer yet. It all starts this week with TWO new markets. The Hilliard Farmers' Market opens up tomorrow, Tuesday, May 29, for a soft open, and the Springfield Farmers' Market heads outside this Saturday! From there we get the Fort Thomas Farmers' Market returning to action on the following Wednesday! We can't wait to challenge our team, and we look forward to the best from them! We also can't wait to see you!
Hilliard Schedule Update: Soft Opening May 29, Findlay Market Salads
As June approaches we're getting closer to an even fuller Blue Oven schedule, and with that in mind, the Hilliard Farmers' Market near Columbus will now have a soft open on May 29 from 4 p-7p. The Hilliard market marks another new adventure for Blue Oven as we spread our opportunities across Ohio. We can't wait to make connections with other vendors and build relationships with new customers!
Another reminder to head down to Findlay Market to grab a salad with your Toast Bar order made from hand-selected greens from Blue Oven Farm! We'll be ready for you all summer long with new seasonal selections to help make your Friday lunch local!
Hyde Park Goes Back Outside 5/20, Blue Ash Farmers' Market Opens and Toast Bar at Findlay Market adds Salads on Friday!
The Blue Oven schedule is filling up with summer farmers' markets! Yesterday, along with being a day to celebrate all of the wonderful mothers in our lives, we also celebrated the final Winter Farmers' Market at Hyde Park. Starting this upcoming Sunday, May 20, the Hyde Park Farmers' Market reopens on the square from 9:30a-1:30p, and we can't wait to get started! The Blue Ash Farmers' Market also reopens this week, starting on Wednesday in Summit Park the market will run from 3:30p-7p.
Another big announcement for fans of our Toast Bar at Findlay Market! We're adding salads to the menu for summer Fridays! With Blue Oven Farm getting into full swing we have a lot of great salad greens to offer, and our Farm Manager, Bala, will be selecting the best for our crew to assemble into prepared salads to enjoy in addition to all of the new exciting toasts you'll be seeing on the menu all summer long! Northside Farmers' Market Moves to Jacob Hoffner Park!
Another week into May and another market going to its summer market location. After successful openings at the Madeira Farmers' Market and Loveland Farmers' Market the Northside Farmer's Market moves back to Jacob Hoffner Park this week from 4p-7p, and we can't wait to see what the summer has in store for us there!
The Winter Farmers' Market at Hyde Park was off this past weekend for the 20th annual running of the Flying Pig Marathon, but they'll be open for the final time at Clark Montessori this coming Sunday, May 14. The Hyde Park Farmers' Market will then hit the square on the following Sunday for its summer season.
Lots to look forward to in the coming weeks, stay tuned for more!
Important Schedule Reminders Week of April 30!
The start of May brings the start of the summer market season, and we have two of our favorites returning to their outdoor location! Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 1, we'll be back at the Loveland Farmers' Market from 3p-6:30p, and we'll be back in Historic Downtown Madeira for the Madeira Farmers Market from 3:30p-7p! We can't wait to see you outside!
Another important note, the Winter Farmers' Market at Hyde Park will be CLOSED Sunday, May 6 for the Flying Pig Marathon. Make sure you head down to Findlay Market on Saturday and Sunday to fill your bread needs! Also, a huge congratulations to the Flying Pig for their 20th year!

We're now in the last full week of April, and that means our locations change in some cases starting next week. Tuesdays starting May 1, we'll be heading to 205 Broadway in Loveland for the Loveland Farmers' Market, Thursdays starting May 3 we'll be heading to Historic Downtown Madeira for the Madeira Farmers' Market and starting May 5 we'll be back at the outdoor location for the Yellow Springs Farmers' Market! Though today's weather has taken a turn for the cold our new farm manager at Blue Oven, Bala Fodor, was extremely excited by last week's uptick in temperature: "Finally some springlike weather and the plants our loving it! The season is underway at Blue Oven Farm and we are looking forward to an amazing year."

Springing into Toast Bar!
While we wait for spring to come to Blue Oven Farm we also look forward to our produce to kick into full gear. In looking forward we began to plan ahead for the exciting new food items, and we're doing so by bringing new Toast Bar items to the menu. We started last week with two new Toast Bar options! We mixed Nutella with caramelized banana and topped it with toasted hazelnuts on one toast and we created a cacio e pepe compound butter and topped it with grated pecorino cheese and lemon zest! Head out to Toast Bar this week to get a taste of the new flavors on the menu!

Yellow Springs April and the Final 2018 Winter Springfield Farmers' Market at Mother's
We've had a great time making our way to the Springfield Farmers' Market at Mother Stewart's over the past several months, and we're sad to see that this Saturday, March 31 is the final event of the winter. We hope to see you again in Springfield, but if you're looking for ways to get your Blue Oven fix, we'll continue to stop at the Yellow Springs Farmers' Market every Saturday morning! Right now the Yellow Springs Farmers' Market is inside, but it won't be long before we head back outdoors. Starting on April 7, the Yellow Springs Farmers' Market will take place in the parking lot of the King's Yard behind the Trail Tavern (running there through April), and then it will be fully returning to full summer hours in May!

The St. Louis Fish Fry, in Owensville
Year in and year out, our neighbors at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Owensville host one of the most popular Fish Fry events during the Lent season, and in 2018 they're up to the same! They've been a supporter of ours, and so we support them by delivering our brioche buns to accompany their fish sandwich. Along with a great menu that you can find here, you can also pair your meal with a beer from Old Firehouse Brewery (another Blue Oven neighbor). It's a great event, and we're happy they're getting the recognition they deserve. The Fish Fry is held in the St.
Louis School Gym, 250 N. Broadway in Owensville, and there are only two more Fridays for the even in 2018, so head out this week, and don't miss out!

Along with sending great bread, croissants and English Muffins out to the farmers' markets, grocery stores and restaurants we serve in the Cincinnati area; one of the primary goals at Blue Oven is to build a strong team with a wide array of interests, experience, and strengths. We've assembled quite a group of individuals who accomplish great feats day-in and day-out, and they deserve all the recognition in the world for keeping Blue Oven moving in the right direction. At Blue Oven we strive to achieve a culture that is built on each Culture Club Pillar. The best part of going to a new farmers' market is the excitement of finding new customers and hearing back from those customers. The reviews are coming in from our first Springfield Farmers' Market or The Market at Mother Stewart's and we're thrilled at the positive reception we're already getting! We can't wait to go back next weekend, and we encourage our Cincinnati customers to take the trip to Mother Stewart's, it's a beautiful market in a beautiful brewery, and the start time makes it the perfect afternoon trip!
As you may have noticed, we decided to close our food stand at Jungle Jim's in Eastgate due to the weather.
